Deutsche: CHALCO Target Lifted to $6.9; Expects Tightened Supply for Global Aluminium Mkt in 2H
Deutsche Bank, in its report, said as China has carried out capacity cut, and non-Chinese manufacturers remained disciplined, the broker expected the global aluminium market to swing to deficit from 2H17 to 2019. As the supply becomes tighter, the broker raised its aluminium price forecasts by 11% to US85 cents/lb in 2H17 and by 12% to US94 cents/lb in 2018. Deutsche Bank expected the aluminium prices to be well supported until the heating season ends in March 2018 in China. As for alumina, the broker raised its price forecast by 5% and 7% for 2H17 and 2018 to US$330/tonne and US$320/tonne respectively.

Based on the above assumption, the broker raised the 2018 earnings forecast of CHALCO (02600.HK)  +0.270 (+4.135%)    Short selling $59.48M; Ratio 9.913%   by 53% and lifted its target price from $5.4 to $6.9 with rating Buy. The broker chose Chalco as one of the top picks
