DeTai New Energy (00559) sees substantially lower loss  DeTai New Energy Group  (00559)  expects a substantial decrease in the net loss for the six months ended 31 December 2016 compared to that for the corresponding period in 2015. The decrease was mainly attributable to: (i) the absence of impairment loss on goodwill of approximately HK$132 million; and (ii) the absence of share-based payment expenses of approximately HK$43 million for the six months ended 31 December 2016.
Solartech Int'l (01166) sells 51% stake in bauxite firm   Solartech International  (01166)  has agreed to sell all its 51% equity interest in Henan Shengxiang Industry, a company principally engaged in trading metallurgical grade bauxite, Mr. Zhou Wei for RMB8.2 million (HK$9.233 million) in cash.

KVB Kunlun FG (08077): '16 net profit fall >50% KVB Kunlun Financial Group (08077) expects a significant decrease in net profit by over 50% for the year ended 31 December 2016 compared to 2015. Such decrease was mainly attributable to: (i) the decrease in leveraged foreign exchange and other trading income as a result of decreased market volatility; (ii) the decrease in cash dealing income which was mainly attributable to decline in trading volume in cash dealing business; and (iii) the increase in fee and commission expenses paid to service providers.

JPM Asset Mgmt Tai Hui Expects US May Raise Rate in Mar at Earliest Tai Hui, Chief Market Strategist, Asia at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, said two to three rate hikes in the US are within reasonable range of expectation, but if the economic condition goes well and the new treasurer will step up efforts in fiscal policies, it is not surprising to see over three rate hikes. Hui expected the rate hike may arrive as soon as March.
Chinese, Mexican Car Companies Invest Over US$200M in Mexican Car Plant Reuters reported that Chinese and Mexican car companies will jointly invest about US$212 million in a car plant in Mexico so as to alleviate the uncertainties of the car-making industry in Mexico brought by US president Donald Trump's policies. Omar Fayad, Governor of Hidalgo in Mexico, said Mexico's Giant, China's JAC Motors and distributor Chori Co Ltd will jointly invest MXN4.4 billion (about US$212 million) in a car plant manufacturing SUVs in Hidalgo.
