SHCI Closes Down 0.25% before Labor Day On the last trading day before Labor Day, Shanghai and Shenzhen markets moved sideways with transaction amount of only RMB366.4 billion for the day. Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,938.32, down 0.25%. Shenzhen Component Index inched down 8.37 pts to 10,141.54. CSI 300 Index and ChiNext Index sagged 0.12% and 0.77% to end at 3,156.75 and 2,138.74 respectively.

HSI Falls 115pts, Weighed Down by Tencent On the eve of futures settlement day, Hong Kong bourses traded mixed. Hang Seng Index once peaked at 21,442 after opening lower 34 pts but retreated to the trough of 21,277 before midday. The benchmark index sank 50 pts or 0.2% at morning's close to 21,356.
