SHCI Sees Loss Narrow to 2.9%; SZCI, ChiNext Index Dive 5%-6.7% The People's Bank of China (PBOC) today (29 February) will carry out RMB230 billion reverse repos with a term of seven days in the open market. However, Shanghai Composite Index and Shenzhen Component Index, opened lower approximately 0.5% lower today, once tumbled 4.6%/ 6% to the trough of 2,638/ 9,000, with increasing sell-offs. The two indexes concluded the day trading at 2,687/ 9,097, down nearly 2.9%/ nearly 5%. CSI 300 Index closed at 2,877, down 2.4%. The ChiNext Index saw a five-day loss and plunged 7.4% at most to the bottom of 1,866, hitting over 5-month low. It last stood at 1,880, tumbling 6.7%. Shenzhen Stock Exchange A Share Index once dived 6.3% to 1,701 and last printed at 1,717, down 5.4%. Turnover of Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses amounted to RMB194.6 billion and RMB267.1 billion.

HSI Drops 184 pts; Led by China Mobile Hang Seng Index receded after opening higher 2 pts this morning, with a loss of up to 220 pts. The benchmark index finished the morning session higher by 184 pts or 1% to 19,179. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index retreated 95 pts or 1.2% to 7,939. Half-day market turnover amounted to $33.034 billion.  CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK)    -2.250 (-2.664%)       Short selling $81.33M; Ratio 22.076%      led the loss, with its share prices tumbled 2.5% to $82.35. SHCI Rebounds 0.9%; SZCI Holds Steady Shanghai and Shenzhen markets held steady today. Shanghai Composite Index hit the trough at 2,872 by falling 1% and last printed at 2,928, rebounding 0.9%. Shanghai Stock Exchange A/B Share Index opened up less than 0.9%. CSI 300 Index last stood at 3,109, up nearly 0.7%. Shenzhen Component Index and ChiNext peaked at 10,355 and 2,230 and last traded at 10,307 and 2,203, up less than 8 pts and down 0.6% respectively. The turnover in Shanghai and Shenzhen markets amounted to RMB227.8 billion and RMB352.7 billion.

HSI Falls 104 pts; Banks Soften Hang Seng Index softened after opening higher 42 pts or 0.2% to 19,506. The decline widened to 135 pts at most and the index ended the morning session at 19,359, down 104 pts or 0.5%. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index dropped 77 pts or 0.9% to 8,144.
