HSI Drops 184 pts; Led by China Mobile

Hang Seng Index receded after opening higher 2 pts this morning, with a loss of up to 220 pts. The benchmark index finished the morning session higher by 184 pts or 1% to 19,179. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index retreated 95 pts or 1.2% to 7,939. Half-day market turnover amounted to $33.034 billion. 

CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK)  -2.250 (-2.664%)    Short selling $81.33M; Ratio 22.076%   led the loss, with its share prices tumbled 2.5% to $82.35. TENCENT (00700.HK)  -0.800 (-0.561%)    Short selling $89.54M; Ratio 8.906%  slid 1.3%. The two stocks dragged the market down by 66 pts. BELLE INT'L (01880.HK)  -0.260 (-4.887%)    Short selling $732.61K; Ratio 3.195%   , TINGYI (00322.HK)  -0.280 (-3.679%)    Short selling $11.47M; Ratio 35.045%   and HKEX (00388.HK)  -4.400 (-2.539%)    Short selling $186.07M; Ratio 49.163%   plunged 3.9%, 3.3% and 2.7% respectively. AIA (01299.HK)  -0.950 (-2.337%)    Short selling $81.88M; Ratio 20.280%   dipped 1.4% to $40.1. HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)  +0.100 (+0.202%)    Short selling $52.27M; Ratio 11.021%  bucked the market and inched up 0.7%. 

Macau gaming stocks fared well. GALAXY ENT (00027.HK)  0.000 (0.000%)    Short selling $28.20M; Ratio 15.148%   and SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK)  +0.150 (+0.557%)    Short selling $75.17M; Ratio 27.524%   jumped 1.3% and 2.4%, of which SANDS CHINA LTD was the best performer of blue chip. Chinese financials weakened. CHINA LIFE (02628.HK)  -0.440 (-2.535%)    Short selling $25.38M; Ratio 11.748%   and PING AN (02318.HK)  -0.500 (-1.497%)    Short selling $37.09M; Ratio 14.391%   faded 1.7% and 0.7%. ICBC (01398.HK)  -0.030 (-0.775%)    Short selling $16.22M; Ratio 4.915%   and CCB (00939.HK)  -0.030 (-0.655%)    Short selling $19.32M; Ratio 8.329%   edged down 0.5% and 1.3%. 

SIHUAN PHARM (00460.HK)  -2.387 (-54.535%)   , after trade resumption, collapsed 52.7%. HANGFAT GINSENG (00911.HK)  -0.019 (-28.358%)   fell sharply by more than 28% following trade resumptio
