Nomura, in its latest research report, raised its target price of BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK)    +0.740 (+8.959%)       Short selling $3.62M; Ratio 3.211%      from $6.8 to $14 in accordance with its upward revisions on the company's 2014/15 EPS estimates by 13% and 25% respectively. The research house recommended investors to further accumulate the stock for the potential earnings upside due to Samsung's transition from plastic casing to metal casting in its middle-class and high-class smartphone models since 4Q2014.

The broker raised the company's 2015 EPS forecast by 5% and hiked the target price from $9.9 to $11.03, with the Neutral rating unchanged.

CHINA LNG (00931.HK)    -1.050 (-36.842%)       Short selling $53.20K; Ratio 0.005%      saw increasing selling orders after 2 pm with share price once down 70% to $0.86, which has offset the accumulated gains in the recent month. The stock is last trading at $1.82, down 36%, with volume surging to 994 million shares. 
China Association of The National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) recently released the operational data of the Shipbuilding industry for the first eight months of 2014. According to the data, the industry has undertaken new orders of 47.4 million DWT during the period, representing an increase of 35.8% year-on-year.  However, the industry analysis pointed out that due to the slowdown of global economic growth, new vessel prices dropped and the completions continued to decline together with the fall in companies' economic efficiency. The market outlook is getting grim. 
China National Coal Association(CNCA)'s chief Wang Xianzheng said the authority will strive to get the coal price to return to a rational level so that the thermal coal price can rise back to around RMB0.1-0.12/Kcal. It is estimated that in order to reach the aforesaid level, the current coal price has to go up 14.11%-24.48%.

VTECH HOLDINGS (00303.HK)    +0.350 (+0.380%)       Short selling $7.78M; Ratio 18.945%      has made good preparation of stocking for Christmas and most of the new toys have been put on shelves in the U.S. and Europe, Citigroup said in a report. However, the broker reduced the company's earnings forecasts for 2015-17 by 2-3% on greater efforts in offering discount for kids' tablet products. Target price was lowered from $120 to $115. VTECH HOLDINGS has fallen 14% recently, providing a good entry opportunity, Citigroup said. The broker believes the stock can outperform its peers and achieve the 2015 results target, so the Buy rating has been maintained.

Compared to other institutional investors, insurance funds seem to enjoy greater advantages in obtaining news shares of Alibaba under the IPO. NCI (601336.SH/01336.HK) was allocated shares of US$180 million and CHINA LIFE (601628.SH/02628.HK) was allocated a quota of US$150 million.  For overseas investment, insurance funds are the main institutional investors, an investment manager told DZH News.
