On the eve of the futures settlement date, Hang Seng Index surged 332 pts at most and eventually gained 268 pts or 1.1% to 24,111 at close; Hang Seng China Enterprises Index closed higher by 268 pts or 2.5% to 11,051. Market turnover was $87.6 billion. 

Hang Seng China H-Financials Index (HFI) surged 3.6% and Mainland insurance stocks led gainers. CHINA LIFE (02628.HK)  +1.800 (+7.200%)    Short selling $355.12M; Ratio 10.240%   and NCI (01336.HK)  +2.750 (+8.501%)    Short selling $196.67M; Ratio 24.372%   shot up 7.2% and 8.5% respectively, becoming the outperformer among blue chips and HSCEI constituents. 

PICC GROUP (01339.HK)  +0.280 (+8.069%)    Short selling $9.49M; Ratio 1.506%   surged 8.1%. CPIC (02601.HK)  +1.900 (+6.240%)    Short selling $123.91M; Ratio 14.370%   , PING AN (02318.HK)  +2.250 (+3.647%)    Short selling $414.61M; Ratio 13.024%   and PICC P&C (02328.HK)  +0.620 (+4.276%)    Short selling $207.18M; Ratio 34.042%   jumped 3.6%-6.2%. 

Chinese banking stocks also traded fairly well. MINSHENG BANK (01988.HK)  +0.390 (+5.000%)    Short selling $96.64M; Ratio 12.540%   rallied 5% and BANKCOMM (03328.HK)  +0.190 (+3.276%)    Short selling $35.77M; Ratio 11.557%   bounced 3.3%. Four big banks advanced 1.6%-2.4%. Moreover, AIA (01299.HK)  +0.650 (+1.462%)    Short selling $140.22M; Ratio 11.724%   and HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)  +0.900 (+1.168%)    Short selling $158.04M; Ratio 13.557%   gained 1.5% and 1.2%, respectively. 

A-share ETFs saw strong buying demand. X ISHARES A50 (02823.HK)  +0.280 (+2.875%)    Short selling $908.94M; Ratio 22.412%   closed higher by 2.9% with turnover reaching $4.06 billion. CSOP A50 ETF (02822.HK)  +0.300 (+3.061%)    Short selling $297.22M; Ratio 9.841%   surged 3.1%. 

HKEX (00388.HK)  +3.200 (+1.921%)    Short selling $259.49M; Ratio 18.787%   perked up 1.9%. Brokerage stocks HAITONG SEC (06837.HK)  +0.300 (+1.892%)    Short selling $55.39M; Ratio 8.310%   and CITIC SEC (06030.HK)  +0.500 (+2.268%)    Short selling $36.04M; Ratio 9.581%   jumped 1.9% and 2.3% higher. 

TENCENT (00700.HK)  +1.000 (+0.802%)    Short selling $123.57M; Ratio 5.287%   inched up 0.8%. CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK)  -0.100 (-0.104%)    Short selling $186.76M; Ratio 10.948%   and CHINA UNICOM (00762.HK)  -0.040 (-0.338%)    Short selling $25.51M; Ratio 6.102%   declined 0.1% and 0.3%. In addition, POWER ASSETS (00006.HK)  +2.750 (+3.843%)    Short selling $10.07M; Ratio 3.771%   rose 3.8%.
