SHCI, SZCI Leap 4.3%-4.8% at Close Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets saw a two-day rise, with widened gains after midday. Shanghai Composite Index and Shenzhen Component Index hit the peak at 2,852/ 9,781 to finish the day-trading at 2,849/ 9,766, leaping 4.3%/ 4.8%. CSI 300 Index continued higher 4.1% to 3,051. The ChiNext Index and Shenzhen Stock Exchange A Share Index ended the day at 2,017/ 1,840, further rising 4.3%/ 4.7%. Turnover of Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses increased to RMB259.3 billion and RMB354.1 billion.

HSI Rises 295 pts; HK Property, Resource Stocks in Demand The People's Bank of China announced that the central bank will lower the RMB reserve requirement ratio (RRR) for financial institutions by 0.5 percentage points starting from today. Hang Seng Index opened higher 148 pts this morning. China's February Manufacturing PMI retreated to 49%, missing estimates, hitting over three-year low. However, with the anticipation that a basket of control measures will be rolled out, the benchmark index once escalated up to 308 pts to the peak of 19,420 before concluding the day trading higher by 295 pts or 1.6% to 19,407. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index added 151 pts or 1.9% to close at 8,068. SHCI Sees Loss Narrow to 2.9%; SZCI, ChiNext Index Dive 5%-6.7% The People's Bank of China (PBOC) today (29 February) will carry out RMB230 billion reverse repos with a term of seven days in the open market. However, Shanghai Composite Index and Shenzhen Component Index, opened lower approximately 0.5% lower today, once tumbled 4.6%/ 6% to the trough of 2,638/ 9,000, with increasing sell-offs. The two indexes concluded the day trading at 2,687/ 9,097, down nearly 2.9%/ nearly 5%. CSI 300 Index closed at 2,877, down 2.4%. The ChiNext Index saw a five-day loss and plunged 7.4% at most to the bottom of 1,866, hitting over 5-month low. It last stood at 1,880, tumbling 6.7%. Shenzhen Stock Exchange A Share Index once dived 6.3% to 1,701 and last printed at 1,717, down 5.4%. Turnover of Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses amounted to RMB194.6 billion and RMB267.1 billion.

HSI Drops 184 pts; Led by China Mobile Hang Seng Index receded after opening higher 2 pts this morning, with a loss of up to 220 pts. The benchmark index finished the morning session higher by 184 pts or 1% to 19,179. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index retreated 95 pts or 1.2% to 7,939.
