HONG KONG STOCKS NEWS 29/07/15

On the eve of the futures settlement day, Hang Seng Index finished at 24,619, up 115 pts or 0.47%. As Shanghai Composite Index recorded a bounce, Hang Seng China Enterprises Index advanced 100 pts or 0.9% to 11,273. Market turnover shrank to $85.989 billion ahead of the release of the Fed' policy meeting results. 

TENCENT (00700.HK)  -2.100 (-1.433%)    Short selling $274.79M; Ratio 8.395%   dragged the market down by a 1.4% drop to $144.4. HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)  +0.700 (+1.017%)    Short selling $38.91M; Ratio 6.116%   , about to release its interim results next Monday, jumped another 1% higher to $69.55. CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK)  +1.100 (+1.125%)    Short selling $182.07M; Ratio 13.116%   perked up 1.1% and HKEX (00388.HK)  +1.800 (+0.852%)    Short selling $200.15M; Ratio 12.777%   edged higher by 0.9%. 

Chinese financials traded mixed. ICBC (01398.HK)  +0.060 (+1.111%)    Short selling $32.81M; Ratio 3.119%   and CCB (00939.HK)  +0.090 (+1.438%)    Short selling $82.17M; Ratio 7.078%   rose 1.1% and 1.4%. CHINA LIFE (02628.HK)  +0.400 (+1.368%)    Short selling $139.37M; Ratio 12.746%   and PICC P&C (02328.HK)  +0.480 (+3.053%)    Short selling $110.51M; Ratio 38.163%   leaped 1.4% and 3.1%. PING AN (02318.HK)  -0.500 (-1.087%)    Short selling $411.69M; Ratio 16.182%   fell for 4 days and tumbled another 1.1%. 

As international oil prices picked up, oil stocks headed north. KUNLUN ENERGY (00135.HK)  +0.280 (+4.112%)    Short selling $19.10M; Ratio 18.381%  soared 4.1%. PETROCHINA (00857.HK)  +0.210 (+2.756%)    Short selling $57.42M; Ratio 8.371%   , CNOOC (00883.HK)  +0.040 (+0.416%)    Short selling $42.58M; Ratio 6.358%   and SINOPEC CORP (00386.HK)  +0.080 (+1.375%)    Short selling $46.72M; Ratio 8.447%   elevated 2.8%, 0.4% and 1.4% respectively. In addition, as international copper price rose 2%, JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK)  +0.300 (+2.913%)    Short selling $29.52M; Ratio 38.283%   rallied 2.9% while MENGNIU DAIRY (02319.HK)  -0.700 (-1.907%)    Short selling $23.51M; Ratio 10.612%  dropped 1.9%.
