                                   HSI Falls 35 pts; China Power Stocks Rally
 Hang Seng Index declined for eight consecutive trading days and opened lower 94 pts at 21,215 this morning. The benchmark index closed down 35 pts or 0.17% to 21,274 in day trading session. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 28 pts or 0.3% to 9,344. The market turnover amounted to $67.107 billion.

The Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China affirmed that the country had to stabilize the property market next year. The industrial leaders CHINA RES LAND (01109.HK)  +0.450 (+2.174%)    Short selling $25.74M; Ratio 11.732%   and CHINA OVERSEAS (00688.HK)  +0.300 (+1.190%)    Short selling $282.22M; Ratio 32.534%   jumped 2.2% and 1.2%. CHINA VANKE (02202.HK)  +0.800 (+3.941%)    Short selling $77.36M; Ratio 22.042%   escalated 3.9% and became the best performing HSCEI constituent. R&F PROPERTIES (02777.HK)  +0.390 (+4.452%)    Short selling $17.61M; Ratio 30.896%   and SHIMAO PROPERTY (00813.HK)  +0.340 (+2.652%)    Short selling $4.52M; Ratio 4.744%   surged by 4.5% and 2.7% respectively.

China's Ministry of Environmental Protection urged for the transformation of coal-fired plants and implementation of subsidies for electricity prices. Chinese power stocks fared well. CHINA RES POWER (00836.HK)  +0.380 (+2.676%)    Short selling $37.74M; Ratio 27.586%   leaped 2.7% and became the best performing blue chipper. HUADIAN POWER (01071.HK)  +0.120 (+2.592%)    Short selling $2.73M; Ratio 9.935%   and HUANENG POWER (00902.HK)  +0.210 (+3.281%)    Short selling $31.89M; Ratio 11.658%   shot up 2.6% and 3.3%. In addition, there is press coverage that the two power companies in Hong Kong will cut tariffs by roughly 1% next year. CLP HOLDINGS (00002.HK)  -0.200 (-0.310%)    Short selling $17.88M; Ratio 10.601%   drifted lower 0.3%, while HKELECTRIC-SS (02638.HK)  +0.010 (+0.163%)    Short selling $7.61M; Ratio 14.304%   added 0.2%.

Hong Kong real estate stocks saw a decline as the market is waiting for the results of Fed meeting on Thursday. HANG LUNG PPT (00101.HK)  -0.320 (-1.808%)    Short selling $15.41M; Ratio 14.461%   , CK PROPERTY (01113.HK)  -0.600 (-1.176%)    Short selling $20.86M; Ratio 8.170%   , NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK)  -0.080 (-1.050%)    Short selling $11.11M; Ratio 18.825%   and HENDERSON LAND (00012.HK)  -0.300 (-0.644%)    Short selling $17.67M; Ratio 16.353%   lost 0.6% to 1.8%. Macau gaming stocks SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK)  -0.500 (-1.969%)    Short selling $20.89M; Ratio 5.931%   and GALAXY ENT (00027.HK)  -0.350 (-1.549%)    Short selling $45.90M; Ratio 24.038%   faded 2% and 1.5% respectively.

Business receipts in value terms of most of the major service industries showed increases of different magnitudes in the second quarter of 2014 when compared with the second quarter of 2013, according to the provisional figures of business receipts indices released today (September 11) by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD). Comparing the second quarter of 2014 with the second quarter of 2013, double-digit increases were recorded in business receipts of the real estate (+20.7%); insurance (+18.9%); courier (+11.8%); administrative and support services (+10.2%); and warehousing and storage (+10.0%) industries. On the other hand, the retail industry recorded a more noticeable decrease (-7.0%) in business receipts during the same period.
