It closed at 27,404, up 71 pts or 0.26%. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 75 pts or 0.55% to 13,684. The market turnover fell to $117.044 billion.

GUOTAI JUNAN I (01788.HK)  +0.613 (+12.098%)    Short selling $55.70M; Ratio 12.963%   rocketed 12.1% after ICAC halted the investigation on the deputy chief executive officer Mr. Wong Tung Ching.

Chinese oil stocks fared well as the oil prices increased. PETROCHINA (00857.HK)  +0.240 (+2.709%)    Short selling $92.57M; Ratio 6.399%   surged by 2.7% to $9.1 amid market prospect of satisfying results for the first half of 2015. China power stocks generally headed north as well. SDIC Power Holdings (600886.SH)'s trading was suspended this morning. It announced that the company is planning for major issues. Therefore, the market is looking forward to the reform or asset injections in the power industry. CGN POWER (01816.HK)  +0.140 (+3.286%)    Short selling $16.28M; Ratio 3.378%   jumped 3.3%, being the best performing state-owned enterprise. CHINA POWER (02380.HK)  +0.230 (+3.986%)    Short selling $13.10M; Ratio 6.853%   advanced 4%. Business receipts in value terms of most of the major service industries showed increases of different magnitudes in the second quarter of 2014 when compared with the second quarter of 2013, according to the provisional figures of business receipts indices released today (September 11) by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD). Comparing the second quarter of 2014 with the second quarter of 2013, double-digit increases were recorded in business receipts of the real estate (+20.7%); insurance (+18.9%); courier (+11.8%); administrative and support services (+10.2%); and warehousing and storage (+10.0%) industries. On the other hand, the retail industry recorded a more noticeable decrease (-7.0%) in business receipts during the same period.
