The intra-day volatility amounted to 760 pts. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 12 pts or 0.9% to 14,127. Market turnover rose to $195.23 billion.

HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)  -0.150 (-0.203%)    Short selling $78.52M; Ratio 3.947%   faded 0.2% to $73.35. The company placed shares at about 20% discount to raise nearly $12.2 billion. BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)  +4.800 (+8.807%)    Short selling $168.75M; Ratio 8.899%   leaped 8.8% to $59.3, being the best performing HSCEI constituents. REAL NUTRI (02010.HK)  -0.360 (-10.909%)    Short selling $74.18M; Ratio 29.485%   dived 10.9%.

Business receipts in value terms of most of the major service industries showed increases of different magnitudes in the second quarter of 2014 when compared with the second quarter of 2013, according to the provisional figures of business receipts indices released today (September 11) by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD). Comparing the second quarter of 2014 with the second quarter of 2013, double-digit increases were recorded in business receipts of the real estate (+20.7%); insurance (+18.9%); courier (+11.8%); administrative and support services (+10.2%); and warehousing and storage (+10.0%) industries. On the other hand, the retail industry recorded a more noticeable decrease (-7.0%) in business receipts during the same period.
