HSI Rises 76 pts; Tencent Breaches Above Peak Level Again
Trading in the shares of U.S bourses suspended last night (5 September). Hang Seng Index once retreated after opening higher this morning and dropped roughly 100 pts to bottom at 23,548. However, the benchmark index peaked at 23,750 afterwards, hitting over a year high again. It finished the morning trade higher 76 pts or 0.3% to 23,726. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index advanced 71 pts or 0.7% to 9,901. Half-day market turnover amounted to $38.273 billion.

Shares in TENCENT (00700.HK) +4.000 (+1.903%) Short selling $182.49M; Ratio 8.942% breached the peak and jumped 1.6% to finish at $213.6. The heavyweight's market share exceeded $2 trillion, reaching $2.022 trillion.

SHK PPT (00016.HK) +0.400 (+0.342%) Short selling $59.21M; Ratio 17.880% , after yesterday's rally of more than 4%, continued higher 0.4% today. In addition, TINGYI (00322.HK) +0.300 (+3.695%) Short selling $59.82M; Ratio 48.448% , after removing from blue chips, further rocketed 4.9% this morning.

BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) +1.950 (+3.611%) Short selling $38.98M; Ratio 17.487% leaped 2.8%. DONGFENG GROUP (00489.HK) +0.370 (+4.389%) Short selling $5.65M; Ratio 3.215% soared 4.3%, being the best performer of HSCEI constituent. With annual increase of 25.4% in car sales for August, GREATWALL MOTOR (02333.HK) +0.360 (+4.586%) Short selling $70.02M; Ratio 22.323% saw a substantial gain of 3.4%. Shares in GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) +0.290 (+4.335%) Short selling $8.60M; Ratio 2.957% rallied 2.2% after reporting 69% rise in August sales. Credit Suisse also raised the target price of the auto stock.
